Life Skills SEQUENCING ADLs: Cooking, Food Prep in the Kitchen
Sequencing Cooking & Food Prep: Life Skills & Kitchen Routines
Help students build cooking and food preparation skills by sequencing detailed, real-life images related to making food. Unlike general sequencing decks that cover multiple ADLs, this deck is all about cooking!
✔ 3 three-step sequences & 7 four-step sequences
✔ Focuses on key food prep tasks like making coffee, preparing nachos, decorating a cake, and more
Two Levels of Support:
Level 1: Each square has a "listen" button for verbal cues (e.g., "2nd, she puts on her dress.")
Level 2: The same sequences, but without verbal cues, encouraging independent sequencing.
Possible Goals to Target:
Sequencing ADLs
Sequencing food prep
Following recipe steps
Answering yes/no questions (Should he add the milk now?)
Answering WH- questions (Why do we put pudding in the refrigerator?)
Describing (What happens to coffee when you add milk?)
Problem-solving (What should he do if the cheese isn’t melted?)
Menu Items Include: Smoothie, cereal, bagel w/ cream cheese, coffee, nachos, burrito, ramen noodles, chocolate milk, pudding, and decorating a cake.
A great resource for special education, speech therapy, and life skills instruction!
